Arrange answers in rows and columns

Choose whether you want to display the answers to Choice questions horizontally or vertically. Then select the number of rows/columns to display.

By default, answers are displayed vertically in a single column.

Horizontal answer display

Note: In modern surveys, the application may override your row and column settings to optimize the question layout for the participant's screen size. For example, if the question has 6 columns but the participant's screen is not wide enough, the question will display fewer than 6 columns.

1. In the Edit Pane, from the Show answers in list, select one of the following:
   • Vertically
   • Horizontally
2. From the Arrange answers list:
   • Select the number of rows or columns you want to display.
   • Select to arrange your answers in either Columns or Rows.
