Show or hide the survey progress bar
The progress bar is a visual indication of a participant's progress in a survey.
- In the Survey Builder, on the Build toolbar, click Properties.
- Select or clear Show survey progress to respondent, and click Done.

The survey progress bar is based on interactive survey steps, not pages.
- A step is interactive if it requires participant engagement and is displayed. For example, questions, the Media Player element, and the Text and Image element would all be considered interactive steps.
- Hidden steps are not reflected in the progress.
- Survey actions, pages elements, and dividers are not interactive. Therefore, they are not reflected in the progress bar.
- For groups that contain a block of steps, progress is based on the number of steps configured to display. For example, if a group contains 5 steps but is configured to display 2, then only 2 steps are reflected in the progress bar.
- An End Survey action counts as an interactive step.
