Automatically invite new eligible recipients

Automatically send an invitation to members who become eligible for an activity after the initial distribution date. When Add Delay is enabled, new and existing members who become eligible for an activity at a future date will receive an invitation after a specified amount of time.

Members will continue to be considered for eligibility until one of the following conditions are met:

  • The activity is closed.
  • The activity close date is reached.
  • The invitation is closed.
  • The invitation's recipient size limit is reached.

The application checks for new eligible members every 15 minutes.

Note: This functionality cannot be used in conjunction with Reserve members for this activity.
Example

You want to send an welcome survey to new members after they opt in to your community. However, you want to delay the invitation to prevent the member from receiving the email immediately after confirming their membership.

To do this:

  1. Set your member filter to include members whose recruitment status is Active.
  2. Enable Automatically send to new eligible recipients for the invitation.
  3. Enable Add Delay and set the delay to two days.
  4. Click Send Now.

After the member confirms their membership, they will receive an invitation to the welcome survey two days later.

  1. On the Recipients tab, select Automatically invite new eligible recipients.
  2. Optional: Delay the invitation.
    1. Select Add delay.
    2. In the text field, type a numeric value for the delay.
    3. Select a unit of time from the list:
      • hours
      • days
      • weeks
      • months
      Note:
      • The maximum is one year.
      • The delay will apply only to members who qualify after the original send date/time. Members who meet the eligibility criteria when the invitation is sent will receive it immediately, regardless of whether an ongoing delay is specified.
      • Members are considered eligible to receive the invitation from the time they meet the conditions in your filter.

On the Distribute page, look for Ongoing and an information icon next to the invitation's Status to see if auto-send was enabled successfully.
