Add a hyperlink

Add a link that opens a website or jumps to an anchor in the text.

  1. Place the cursor in the text where the link will be inserted, or select the text for the link.
  2. On the Editing toolbar, click the Hyperlink Manager button.
  3. On the Hyperlink tab, do one of the following:
    • To insert a link to a webpage, type the URL in the URL field.
      Note: The URL must include the correct protocol. Supported protocols include:
      • http://
      • https://
      • mailto:
    • To insert a link to a document, click the Document Manager button, and then select the file.
    • To insert a link to an anchor in the email, select the anchor from the Existing Anchor list.
  4. In the Link Text field, type or edit the text that will open the link.
  5. Optional: In the ID field, type an ID for the link, or click the Generate ID button.
  6. From the Target list, select where the link will open.
    • To open the link in the current browser tab, leave Target set to None.
    • To open the link in a new browser tab, set Target to New Window.
  7. In the Tooltip field, edit the text that will open the email.
  8. Click OK.
