Edit an image in a question

You can crop or resize images that you add to the question text or answer.

  1. Optional: Edit the image in the question text.
    1. Click the Question field.
    2. Right-click the image, and then select Properties.
    3. In the Properties dialog, change the image properties.
      • To resize the image, type a value in the Width and Height fields.
        Note: To maintain the image's original proportions, click the Maintain Proportions button, and then type a value in the Width or Height field.
      • To change the alignment of the image with the text, make a selection from the Image Alignment list.
      • To add a border, select a color from the Border Color list, and then set the border width.
      • To add space around the image, type a value in the Top, Bottom, Right, and Left fields.
      • To add alternative text, which is read by screen readers and is displayed in place of the image, type the text in the Alt Text field.
      • To add a tooltip for the image, enter the text in the Title Text field.
    4. Click OK.
  2. Optional: Edit the image in the answer.
    1. To the right of the image, click the Edit image button.
    2. Crop the image.
      1. Click the Crop button.
      2. From the Aspect Ratio list, select an aspect ratio.
      3. In the Width and Height fields, type a pixel value.
        Note: To retain the original proportions, ensure that the Retain Proportions button is selected.
      4. To set the starting point of the cropped image, enter a value in the X and Y fields.
        Tip: You can reposition and resize the selection area.
      5. Click Crop.
    3. Resize the image.
      Note: For Slider Scale and Visual Grid questions:
      • You cannot increase the image dimensions. Participants will see an image that is scaled to within 135 x 110 pixels for Slider Scale questions and 250 x 200 pixels for Visual Grid questions.
      • When you decrease the image dimensions, the system will create a copy of the image in the Image Browser.
      1. Click the Resize button.
      2. Do one of the following:
        • From the Preset Sizes list, select a size.
        • In the Width and Height fields, type a pixel value.
        • In the Percentage field, type a percentage.
      3. Click Resize.
  3. Click Save.
