Images checklist

To ensure that your images follow the best practices, use this checklist.

Images in question text

  • Images do not exceed the total width of your portal.
  • If images are wider than the total width of your portal, thumbnail images are created.
  • Thumbnail images are between 150 to 220 pixels wide.
  • If the image detail is better at resolution lower than the total width of your portal, then the lower resolution image is used.

Images as options

  • Image height does not exceed 300 pixels.
  • All images fit within a page view, so participants do not have to scroll to view all the images.
  • Clickable/enlargeable thumbnail images are used instead of full-size images that take up a lot of screen space.
  • Line breaks are inserted after each image to space out options if necessary.

Grid

  • All images do not exceed 200 pixels wide where possible.
  • All images fit within a page view, so participants do not have to scroll to view all the images.

  • Clickable/enlargeable thumbnail images are used if needed.

Testing with ad-blocking software

Ad and popup-blocking software such as Ad Block may prevent images from loading based on how images are named. To ensure your images appear properly, test your survey using Ad Block in a couple of different web browsers.
