Create a question reference

Create a question reference, so you can script and pipe with questions that are defined in other surveys.

Note:
  • If your survey references two or more questions that have the same name, the application adds "_2" after a question name and then increments and adds the number to each question of the same name.
  • Ensure that your survey references a question from a validated survey. If your survey references a question from a survey that has not been validated, you cannot validate your own survey.
  • If your survey references a question from another survey and you want to change the question name, you must do so in the source survey. If you change the question name in your current survey, the original question name will still appear in study report downloads.
  1. In the References and Recodes tree, right-click the survey name, and then select Add References.
  2. In the Add References dialog, add the questions that you want to refer to.
  3. Close the dialog.
