Edit a user auto-provisioning group

You can edit a group at any time, but the settings you can configure depend on the state of your user auto-provisioning configuration.

Note: You cannot edit group settings except for the group name while an authentication token is active. The reason for this is to avoid unexpected user role assignments while the Identity Provider (IdP) is syncing user data with Alida.

To change group details other than the name of the group while a token is active, you must complete these steps:

  1. Delete any active tokens in the User Auto-Provisioning page.
  2. Edit the group name and role and permission information as required.
  3. Generate a new token.
  4. Update the token in your IdP.
  5. Verify that the group mapping in your IdP correctly references the name of the group in the User Auto-Provisioning page.
  1. Select Product Settings > SSO
  2. Click the User Auto-Provisioning tab.
  3. Click Edit beside the group you want to modify.
  4. Optional: Enter the new name in the Name text box.
If an active SCIM API token is configured, this is the only change you can make to the group settings.

Whenever you modify a group name, you must ensure that the mapping between your IdP groups and the groups defined in the User Auto-Provisioning page is correct.

  5. Optional: Update the role and permission details for the group.
For information about the roles and permissions you can assign to user auto-provisioning groups, see User roles.
  6. Click Done.
