Duplicate an activity

Create a copy of an activity (the activity itself, distribution emails, and standard survey reports), and use it as the basis for a new one. The duplicate does not contain the previous activity's data.

Prerequisites:

For recruitment surveys, you must be an Admin, or a Power User with the Can access recruitment surveys permission to complete this task.

  • Duplicate a recruitment survey.
    1. Open the Community app and click the Recruit tab in the activity toolbar.
    2. Hover over the recruitment survey listing, click the options menu, and select Duplicate.
The duplicate appears in the list as yourActivityName Copy number.
  • Duplicate an activity.
    Note: You cannot duplicate forums.
    1. Open the Surveys app.
    2. On the right-hand side of an activity, click the options menu and select Duplicate.
    3. Optional: Type a new internal Activity Name.
    4. Optional: Select or clear Include communications.

If this option is selected, the duplicate activity will include and exclude the following:

      Includes Excludes
      • All invitations and reminders
        • The copied distribution emails will have a status of Not Sent.
        • For each distribution email, the following details are copied if applicable:

          • Community
          • Internal name
          • External facing activity name
          • Member facing activity name
          • Member filter
          • Uploaded CSV lists
          • Recipient size limit
          • Automatically send to new eligible recipients setting
          • Subject line
          • Message content
          • Theme
    5. For surveys, select or clear Include standard reports.
If this option is selected, the duplicate activity will include and exclude the following:
      Includes Excludes
      • Standard survey reports duplicated from the original activity.
        • Duplicate reports contain all configurations from the originals such as filters, columns, subgroups, weight schemes, and significance testing settings.
        • Because the duplicate activity does not have responses yet, weighting may appear with errors.
      • The new standard report that is auto-generated for any new survey.
      • Specialized reports like text analyses, or reports for Choice-Based Conjoint or Video Feedback questions.
      • Response data from the previous activity.
    6. Click Duplicate.
      Result:

The duplicate activity appears in the Activities List with the internal name you specified.

The duplicate activity inherits the access settings applied to the original survey. If your user account has been assigned the Can change access settings permission, you can change the access settings for the duplicated activity. If your account does not have this permission, the report will be assigned to the teams you belong to, or if you don't belong to any teams it will be available to everyone.

If you duplicated a survey, the questions, answers, and survey logic are included. For multilingual surveys, the duplicate activity also retains the locale settings and translations from the original survey. However, the duplicate activity does not include previous participation or report data.
