Request mobile screen sharing from participants

You can request that participants share their mobile screen in a video discussion setting.

Participants can use the Discuss.io Mobile Screen Share app to broadcast the screen of their mobile device in a video discussion session. This is useful for observing participants as they, for example, complete user experience testing or demonstrate mobile app or website functionality.

You need to request that the participant initiate mobile screen share on their device, and then allow their mobile device to join the video discussion session.

  1. Ask the participant to enable Mobile Screen Share.
    • On their desktop or laptop, they need to click Mobile Screen Share at the bottom of their screen.

    • On their mobile device, they need to tap the three dots located at the bottom right of the meeting room and tap Mobile Screen Share.
After the participant starts their mobile screen share, you will be prompted to allow their mobile device to join the video discussion session.
  2. To enable the participant's mobile screen share, click Allow.

As the moderator you can control how the participant's mobile screen share in the video discussion whiteboard:

    • Dismiss: You can end the participant's mobile screen share.
    • Pause/Resume: You can pause and resume the mobile screen share the participant is broadcasting. This is useful to stop recording when the participant is entering sensitive data, or if they are performing other tasks on their mobile device that you do not want to record.

If you want the participant to navigate to a particular page when they share their mobile screen, you can click Upload/Share Media at the bottom of the page, and then enter the link in the Share URL text box and click Share.
