Create a Numeric question to ask participants for a numeric value
as an answer.
Note:
- Default values are not
provided.
- The application ignores
any leading zeros that participants enter in their responses. For example if a
participant enters 000700, the application records the response as 700. If
leading zeros are required, use an Open End question instead. For more
information, see
Create an Open End question.

In
Power Survey Authoring, click the
Questionnaire tab.

On the
Authoring Navigation Bar, hover over
,
and then select
Numeric.

Type a name for the question, and then click
OK.

Add the question text.

Click the
Question field, and then type the
question text.
For information on formatting the text and adding files
such as images, see
Editing toolbar.

Click
Update.
Note:
- The application
automatically removes any Javascript that you add to question text, instruction
text, or content boxes.

In the
Properties section, set the question
properties.
- From the
Decimal place(s) list, select the number of
allowable decimal places.
By default,
participants cannot include decimal places.
- In the
Minimum value field, type the minimum value
that participants can provide.
- In the
Maximum value field, type the maximum value
that participants can provide.
If you do not specify a value, participants can enter up to 16
digits with a maximum value of 2147483647.
- In the
Height field, type the number of lines for
the height of the answer text field.
By default, the text field is one line high.
- In the
Width field, type the number of characters
for the width of the answer text field.
By default, the text field is 45 characters wide.
- Under
Sensitive Data, click
Treat response as sensitive data to
automatically purge the answer data after the
participant becomes inactive.
Note:
- Only Admins can
change this setting.
- Sensitive Data
is available on request. For more information, see
Purging sensitive data.
- You cannot
recover the answer data after it is purged.

Click
Save.
