Create a new weighting scheme, or select an existing weighting
scheme, and apply it to your report.
-
On the report toolbar, select
.
Result: The
Weighting panel appears.
-
Turn on the
Weighting toggle.
-
To select an existing weighting scheme, select the scheme from the
Weight Scheme drop-down list.
-
To create and apply a new weighting scheme:
-
Click the
Weight Scheme drop-down list.
-
Click
+ Create New Weight Scheme.
The
Select Variable(s) page is displayed.
Use this page to select the survey questions and/or profile variables to use as
weighted variables in your weighting scheme.
Note: Incomplete data or non-responses from the combination of
weighted variables you select are filtered out automatically.
-
To add survey questions, ensure that the
Survey Questions tab is selected, and
click the
Question Name checkbox beside each
question to include in the weighting scheme.
-
To add profile variables, select the
Profile Variables tab, and click the
Variable Name checkbox beside each profile
variable to include in the weighting scheme.
-
Click
Next.
-
Enter the
Target Percentage for each variable.
Valid target percentages must:
- Add up to 100%
total.
- Only contain
numbers (not letters or special characters).
- Be greater than or
equal to 0.
- Be set to 0 if the
sample percentage value is 0.
- Be set to a value
above 0 if a value above 0 exists for the sample percentage.
- Optional:
Select the
Set Maximum Weight Factor Limit checkbox
and enter the value for the limit.
This sets the maximum weight factor the algorithm can use to
adjust a variable when applying the weighting scheme. You can enter any integer
or decimal value up to 50. The decimal value can include two decimal places.
- Optional:
Select the
Set Minimum Weight Factor Limit checkbox
and enter the value for the limit.
This sets the minimum weight factor the algorithm can use to
adjust a variable when applying the weighting scheme. You can enter any integer
or decimal value up to 50. The decimal value can include two decimal places. It
must be less than or equal to the
Maximum Weight Factor Limit.
-
Click
Calculate Efficiency.
-
Click
Save.
-
Click
Apply & Exit.
The selected weighting
scheme is applied to the report and the following weighting metrics are added
as rows in the crosstab:
- Weighted
base: The total number of responses after weighting is applied.
- Effective
base: The adjusted sample size after applying weights.
- Unweighted
base: The total number of responses before weighting is applied.
The totals for each answer and the results for each banner column are
displayed.
