View or edit community settings

Manage the technical configuration details for your community.

Note: This task cannot be performed by Author or Analyst users.
  1. In the navigation bar, click Product Settings > Technical Config.
  2. Choose the community for which you want to view or edit settings.
  3. In the Web Settings area, click Edit Settings.
  4. In the Community Settings dialog, view or edit settings.
    Setting Description Can Edit
    Community Name

    The name for the community.

    Group Code

    For instances that include multiple communities, the group code is a user-defined string that identifies the locales that should be grouped together. For example, if you have Community A and Community B, and both are available in English, French, and German for a total of 6 communities, you can use:

    • CommA to group the Community A English, French, and German communities.
    • CommB to group the Community B English, French, and German communities.
    Locale

    The language setting for the respondent experience, including:

    • Email notifications
    • The portal
    • The sign up/sign in pages
    • The unsubscribe page
    • Surveys
    • Forums
    Member Home URL The link that community members use to access the portal.
    From Email Address The email address displayed in the From field for all email messages.
    Company Name You can change the name of your organization.
    Company Street Address You can change the street address of your organization.
    Description The description for the organization.
    Support Email Address An email address that belongs to your organization, which respondents will use if they require technical support.
    Tip: You can insert the support email address into messages using Insert Variable > Support Email.
    Support URL

    The link respondents use if they have technical issues. Links can start with http:// or https://.

    If this field is empty, the Support Email Address is used instead.

    Tip: You can insert the support URL in distribution emails using Insert Variable > Support Link.
    Terms and Conditions URL The link that displays terms and conditions. Links can start with http:// or https://.
    Tip: You can insert the terms and conditions URL into messages using Insert Variable > Terms and Conditions Link.
    Privacy Policy URL The link that displays the privacy policy. Links can start with http:// or https://.
    Tip: You can insert the privacy policy URL into messages using Insert Variable > Privacy Policy Link.
    Open Rate Tracking Enable this option to view the number of recipients who opened an email. For more information, see Open rate tracking.
    Notice: It is the responsibility of the administrator to ensure open rate tracking is aligned with your organization's terms of use and privacy policy. For more information, see Cookies and tracking pixels in the Alida Help Center.
    Note: To change any of the read-only settings, please contact Alida Technical Support.
  5. Click Save.
    Result: If you updated your Company Name and Company Street Address, the changes will appear in the email footer of distribution emails.
