Create a post

Create and publish content to the member hub.

Tip: For an optimal user experience, we recommend using Chrome for desktop to create a new post.
Tip: Posts in the content stream do not support Community activity links.

To use the Member Hub to distribute activity links:

  1. At the top of the content stream, click What do you want to share?.
  2. In the post dialog box, next to the Add button, type the post content.
Tip: To create a line break in text instead of a new paragraph, press Shift+Enter.
  3. Optional: Format the text.
    • Click the Style toolbar to apply a paragraph style.

Tip: H1 is recommended for the post title.
    • Select the text to apply a text style.

Tip: To close the toolbar, place your cursor at the end of the text.
For more information, see Format text and images.
  4. Optional: Add an image, gallery, media, or custom HTML to a post.
Note: The first image you upload is the default preview image even after it is deleted from the post.
  5. Optional: Edit the preview image.
    1. Click Image.
    2. Click Upload and navigate to the image file on your computer, then click Open.
    3. Optional: Reposition the image.

Preview images are cropped from the top and bottom, and on the left and right sides. The focus of the image should be contained within the inner 75% of the image.

    4. Optional: Drag the slider to the right to increase the image size.
    5. Click Save.
    Note:
    • Preview images do not support alternative text.
    • The resolution ratio for preview images is 4:3 of the original. To maintain image quality, the recommended image dimensions are 336(w) x 252(h) pixels.

    • Featured posts crop more of the image and degrade the preview image quality more than regular posts.
    • Animated GIFs appear as a static image in the content stream. To view the animation, click the post.
  6. Optional: From the Collection list, select a post category.
Tip: Adding the post to a collection helps members find similar content.
  7. Optional: In the Tag post field, type a keyword that describes the content.
Tip: When a member clicks the tag, they see all the content that share the same keyword.
  8. Optional: Schedule the post.
  9. Optional: Click Save Draft to continue working on your post at a later date.
  10. Click Post.
Result: The content is published on the member hub.
