External activities
Distribute an activity that was created in an application outside of the Alida platform. The external activity type allows you to invite members to complete these activities and track participation.
The external activity workflow is as follows:
-
Create an external activity in the Alida platform.
Think of this external activity as a shell. You are actually creating and authoring the activity in the external application, but the shell provides everything you need to link the external activity back to the Alida platform, and pass back participation data.
- If you are distributing the
activity from the Alida platform:
- On the Distribute tab, in the Activity Link field, copy and paste the external activity link.
- During authoring, you'll
need to add
participation data links to your external survey's end
points.
These links pass back information about Completed, Over Quota, and Disqualified participants.
- You'll need to create invitations or hub invitations in the Alida platform.
- During distribution, you'll need to append member IDs or profile variables to activity links.
- If you are distributing the
activity from the external platform:
- You do not have to provide an external activity link.
- During authoring, there is no need to add the participation data links to your activity.
- Distribution is handled on the external platform. You do not have to create invitations or hub invitations on the Alida platform.
- While the activity is open or once the activity closes, you'll need to import participation data using the Track Participants tab.
