Respondent variables
Respondent variables capture information about participants while they complete a given survey.
You can use respondent variables to:
- Build survey logic
- Add respondent variables to the report
- Pipe values into survey text
- Filter reports
- Add subgroups
- Export report data

| Display Type |
Refers to whether the participant is viewing the activity on desktop or mobile. Possible values include:
This value is recorded when the participant opens the first page of the survey. |
| MemberId |
Refers to the participant's unique Member ID value in the Community. |
| Respondent Locale | Refers to the participant's Community locale. Possible values depend on the locales that have been assigned to the survey for responding. |
| User Agent | Refers to the participant's browser and operating system information used when participating in the activity. |
