Why use Virtual Incentives?

The Virtual Incentives integration provides an opportunity for communities to deliver incentives immediately upon activity completion and to customize incentives rewards. Here are just some of the advantages of the Virtual Incentives program:
  • Community rewards can be branded to match the community logo and choice of messaging.
  • The Virtual Incentives GiftCard PASS allows you to select up to 9 e-gift card options for recipients to choose from.

    If you want to choose one gift card instead of offering members a choice, this is also possible.

  • The member experience is streamlined. There is no account creation for standard GiftCard Pass rewards and minimal personal identifiable information (PII) is collected.

Virtual Incentives member experience

With the Virtual Incentives integration, you can set up surveys to automatically reward members upon completion. When members complete a survey successfully, they receive a reward notification email from the Virtual Reward Center. This email is branded to match the community and includes the community logo and any messaging you want. The member chooses from the list of available gift card options, and their gift card is issued immediately.

Privacy and security

Virtual Incentives maintains administrative, technical and physical safeguards designed to protect against unauthorized disclosure, use, alteration or destruction of any personal information that Alida gives them. They use the industry standard for Internet security—Secure Socket Layer ( SSL) technology—to help protect the information Alida provides.

What information is passed on to Virtual Incentives? What information are members asked to provide?

The only information that Alida sends Virtual Incentives is the member's name and email address. Virtual Incentives only collects additional information from members if they select a virtual Visa option as a reward. In this case, members will be asked to create an account as required for any prepaid Visa products.

Getting a Virtual Incentives account

You must have a Virtual Incentives account to use this integration. There are two ways of setting up an account: through Virtual Incentives directly or through Alida. Review the information in this section to choose the option that's right for you.

Description You set up and fund your account directly through Virtual Incentives, and you manage the vendor relationship yourself. You set up and fund your Virtual Incentives account through Alida. You skip vendor procurement and onboarding. Instead, you manage incentives through Alida's self-serve integration with Virtual Incentives.

Note: A 4-week lead time is required before the first incentive rewards can be distributed, and before Alida can access top-up funds.

To set up an account, please submit a ticket to Member Services (memberservices@alida.com) or One-Stop Shop Support (support@alida.com).

You will be asked to fill out a Virtual Incentives Onboarding Form. You will also be required to submit a community logo (maximum size 150px x 500px).

The Virtual Incentives workflow

Once you have your Virtual Incentives account set up, this is how it to integrate it with the Alida platform.

Step 1: Install the Virtual Incentives integration from the App Center.

During the installation process, you will be prompted to enter the program and SKU IDs for each applicable community. For more information, see Integrate Virtual Incentives.

Step 2: Assign rewards for eligible activities.

After the integration installs successfully, whenever you are creating an invitation for an eligible activity, you will see a Rewards tab on the right-hand side. The following activity types are eligible for rewards:

  • Surveys (created from blank, not based on an Activity Library template)
  • Power surveys

Additionally, the invitation must be:

  • An email invitation or hub invitation.
  • Intended for a community that has a Virtual Incentives program associated with it.

Use this tab to specify the reward invitation recipients will receive upon completing the activity. For more information, see Assign rewards for activity completion.

Step 3: Members complete the incentivized activity.

After completing the activity, members receive an email notification from Virtual Incentives. They must click the link in the email to claim their reward. The reward will be of the type configured for the community, and in the amount configured for the invitation

Step 4: Monitor the payouts for incentivized activities.

View statistics for all incentivized activities, and export the data for analysis outside of the application. For more information, see Activity rewards statistics.
